Welcome to our School!
On behalf of the pupils, parents, staff and governors I would like to welcome you to Hintlesham and Chattisham Church of England Primary School and to our website. We are proud to be a church school serving our local villages and working in partnership with our community.
Our Curriculum Intent Statement
A curriculum that promotes learning through the school’s vision of:
“Jesus is the light of the world … we are gems that reflect his light as we learn. “
The Christian Bible talks of God seeing humans as his jewels in the making (Malachi 3:16-17).
Our classes represent precious jewels, every individual sparkling gem, child and adult, has amazing potential. All are valued, and valuable, as God’s children: his special treasure. Our Christian Values are embedded in the smoothing and polishing process, as we learn together to become the best we can be.
At Hintlesham and Chattisham C of E Primary School we aim to offer all children an experience that is highly inclusive and through our values, in a Christian environment, brings love, hope, aspiration and fulfilment.
We strive to facilitate links with our local communities to ensure that all children have a sense of belonging and a respect of diversity, equality and British Values.
Pupils at all levels are helped to achieve their full potential through holistic curriculum opportunities. Those who are most able are further challenged to independently expand their skills and knowledge. Those who find learning more difficult are encouraged and given targeted support to embed skills, to develop at their own pace and to learn in a style that suits their individual needs.
Our carefully structured curriculum is designed to offer a broad and balanced set of experiences from which our learners are creative, independent and reflective. We encourage resilience and confidence when approaching challenging tasks where a variety of learning styles are used to develop their recall, making their memory stronger. Children enjoy learning in a relevant, inspirational curriculum to prepare them for a life-long love of learning where they are aware of how to keep themselves safe in all contexts.
Beyond the curriculum we offer a nurturing environment supported by regular opportunities to work with “buddies” from across the school and our wider village and church communities. All children have the opportunity to reflect, including within our many areas both inside the school and outside in our enriched stimulating grounds.
A variety of sports opportunities are promoted through our own clubs and our strong links with the local pyramid schools as well as the wider geographical area allowing the children to participate in events outside of our school in the local community.
